The CENSICO Hand Grinder for Petrography (Model HG-I) is specially designed for the manual grinding and polishing of petrographic specimens. It accommodates four pieces of 11" × 3" (one-third sheet) emery paper of different grit sizes, securely clamped onto a polished bronze/brass surface to provide a flat and stable grinding platform. The complete mechanism is mounted in a heavy-duty tray measuring approximately 16" × 16.5", fabricated from heavy gauge sheet metal with a durable hammer-tone enamel finish. The unit is equipped with an integrated water jet and control valve, allowing controlled water flow for efficient wet grinding and polishing operations.

The Specimen Leveller for Petrographic Samples provides a simple and reliable method for ensuring that the specimen surface is exactly perpendicular to the optical axis of the microscope. Pressure applied to the plunger knob aligns the polished specimen surface parallel to the upper surface of the microscope slide, on which the specimen is mounted using plasticine. The unit consists of a ground metallic plated base, a concealed return spring steel shaft with a gun metal bushing, and a one-piece cast iron (C.I.) frame finished with a durable hammertone coating for long-lasting performance and corrosion resistance.
